I'd like to get these when I get back to work and can afford them. Repaints to create already existing characters don't bother me so much as the color scheme just reminds me of their unique personalities to the original mold and make me glad I don't have to buy the first one to repaint it to make the characters myself. I do wanna get more of the new mold figures first though as I have Starscream, Prime, Bumblebee and Hot Rod, I really wanna get Jetfire next.

I think the Battle for Autobot City set is cool. I'm looking forward to the Devastator set as well.

The Devastator set is just Devastator. Will be exclusive to Wal Mart in the USA. Shame that they'll take something new like the Energon Devastator combiner coloured green and purple, but not the Seacon set that was made for them.

I am thankful every day that I shelled out for the testshot of the Seacons instead of waiting for the release.
That said I truly hope it sees the light of day at some point. The (admittedly bright) colours work really well as a group uniform and a combiner.

I missed out on that one, and the Armada Hot Shot as Smokescreen. |

word has it that the Seacons and other universe toys that weren't released were mass produced and are still sitting in baggies in a warehouse in China or HongKong awaiting a store to pick them up so the boxes can be made.

Theres a Classics Seacon? What does it look like?
Am disappointed with the Soundwave re-issue personally. Had been hoping for an all new Classics version of him after the Titanium one went a bit wrong.
Anyways I really hope they choose to continue the Classics. The majority of them have become my favorite Transformers toys of all time and there are just so many characters I would love to see as Classics figures. Would love the old Autobots back like Jazz, Sideswipe and Prowl and also want the future ones like Springer, Blurr, Kup and Arcee to go with Hot Rod. Part of me wants to even see some of the Pretenders redone with modern toy tech. I'd like to know if theres a way to make the shells not so fat looking and made them more articulated so I can have truly cool and menacing looking versions of Skullgrin, Thunderwing and Bludgeon.

It was confirmed by Hasbro several times that they're sitting ready to be packaged up, just as soon as someone is willing to carry them. Unlike the last Battle in a Box set and the Halloween Beasties, the Universe Seacons were produced. But Wal Mart pulling out of the release of them simply killed the whole release. Hasbro would be foolish to not release them in some way, or one day they'll simply be destroyed/dumped and a fair few sets will make their way to E-Bay. |
