Eh, yet another nail in the coffin for G1 collecting. Seriously, if some wierdo can bootleg a TF to this level of quality, then why the hell can't Takara just reissue them? Not commercially viable. Or the moulds don't exist any more. Or the bootlegs are just based off an actual toy and not a mould. If Justitoys can get Snarl, Slag and Grimlock so accurate at WST size, why can't a bootlegger do the same with Swoop if they see the chance to make a killing?

What I don't understand is if some wierdo can make a copy of a TF to such a standard that it is not easy to tell from an original, then why can't Takara "copy" it and sell it as a re-issue?(The standard of my Jazz re-issue would suggest that they've bootlegged their own toy - BADLY). Therefore the moulds argument is slightly irrelevant.
And it is commercially viable.
Why?
It's not rocket science - fools are paying £80 for a fake. That is absurd. I wouldn't buy this for less than a score, if that.

[glow=red,2,300] Makes sense. That's why they're demanding such a high price. Give it a month or so - see how many have been produced, and whether Hasbro / Takara squash them... if not I reckon we'll see a lot more all going much cheaper. [/glow]

I've been told that the Swoops should be available more readily by the end of the month. Not sure how much they'll cost though...............£80 is way too much to spend on them IMO considering you can up a KO prime for under £50 now.
I have the Rumble and Ravage sets on the way now so their out (£15.50 for anyone interested). Not sure when the Ratbat sets are out.

I find it all rather depressing.
We're just going to end up being drowned in real looking KOs.
Thank Christ I got a real Swoop some time ago, is all.

depressing? yeah a little but i doubt we will be swamped
if there really was a viable market for them them takara would re-do it and from what I understand these ones are being done in very limited quantities
they're nice fillers I'll probably keep a swoop for myself as owning a MIB original is beyond what I'm willing to pay for a toy at the moment due to house hunting but the cassette ko's i'm just ordering for people on the board
we might see a few others but probably not too many
