At the same time though, not everyone will think this is wise. we'll see it as a waste of money, so what gives other people who disagree the right to tell us that we shouldn't think that way? They have none so dont tell us to not think that way either. Personally I don't think £30 for a standard TF is a "wise" purchase, but I'll be damned if it doesn't make me smile! The guy who paid that money for thie toy is probably feeling somewhat sick at what he paid, but also a sheer overwhelming sense of elation at the knowledge he has one of the rarest TF peices out there! Heck, I'd pay £50 just to play with it for a half hour... Wise? No. Fun? You decide... I say give the dude a high five and marvel at his splendour, then maybe he'll let us all look at his toys.

Don't let the man get you down. Unless he has a large gun, in which case, hide.

They have none so dont tell us to not think that way either. You can think what you like. No one ever said you couldn't. I merely took exception to the people abusing someone for spending their money. If it's their money and it's not doing someone else any harm what business is it of anyone else what they spend it on? As I said it's more than I would spend personally but just because they have spent it doesn't mean that I think they are "idiots", "have more money than sense" or "don't deserve it". All of which are judgements unfair judgements on the person. None of us know their situation nor what they have put in to earn that money.

Transfan2 was the winner of it in the end.
He's a strange cookie, as a colleague of mine would say.

The legendary spending of the top tier of Transformer collectors is something I'll never be able to comprehend but I love that they are so dedicated and love them that much that they are willing to go all out like that. Hat's off to Transfan2, you gotta marvel at that willingness to do whatever it takes to catch 'em all.

Hat's off to Transfan2, you gotta marvel at that willingness to do whatever it takes to catch 'em all. Too true. A lot of people I know think my collection is nuts because I have quite a few TF's. But truth be told my collection pales into comparison to the top tier collectors. You do have to just sit back and admire people with that much dedication. As for whether it is too much money. Well I think it's all relative......if you have a lot of money it won't seem extravagent. For example rich art collectors don't see spending millions on a painting as extravagent as they have millions to begin with or when a footballer spends hundreds of thousands betting it's not crazy as they earn that much. I'm not suggesting Transfan2 has loads of money but if he has $7000 to spend on one TF he can't be short of a bit and if you have the money why not. When I got my Christmas bonus from work a few years ago I spent nearly £100 on a Sonic Convoy set. Some people thought I was nuts but to me at the time it wasn't.
