Finally received it today and man it's awesome.
My mark-dom is totally re-powered. The music, the cartoon, even the menu screen is a thing of BM beauty!
Everyone must own this DVD set!

Got my set today via cd-wow.com. I've only ever seen this series on third-gen tape copies so it was a real joy to see the series as it should be seen. After only seeing 3 eps, I have to say this is the best TF series. Storylines, characters and dialogue just puts the current series to shame. Detail level is immense and stlil looks so good even though this series is more than 5 years old.
Funny watching the skirs interview.....sound like he feared for his life from fanatical TF fans!

Always been a beast machines fan my friend. Why on gods earth do people compare the recent drivel to Mainframes masterpiece is shocking. I've just finished listening to the commentary for ep3 and it certainly shows the level of detail and planning that went it to this show. The explanation of Primals guilt was clever but I'm still not convinced by Rhinox's deflection,
To be honest though, it was like watching TF: the movie on R1 remastered DVD for the first time......show much detail, so well put together.

Yes, its clear how much thought went into it. Watching the interniews shows that they were really trying to accomplish something different from what we've seen before. I think the problem arises in that as much as older TF fans say they want character development and in story continuity/advancement they dont like it when it isant what they want. Comics seems to suffer the same level of harassment as people (fans) who believe they have claim on the characters want the bets of both worlds (but still want the story to unfold as they want it).
Each to their own though, if Armada and it's children please some people then good luck to them. Shame that BM is a ofen overlooked goldmine based on a few people's moaning about organics.

I Have to admit the Organics thing didn't really sit well with me the first time I watched the series....but I still liked it.
The DVD make's it so much better. The detail of the series really stands out...makes Armada etc look rubbish in comparison.
I can see why some poeple don't like beast machines...but I'd say watch again and give it a chance. it's not quite a good as beast wars but after seing these DVD's it's not that far behind IMO

Mine arrived today from Import CD Specialists after only 8 days.
Wow! I misjudged the Beast Wars as a Hasbro attempt to revive an old tradsemark when I first saw it years ago and have since rescinded that thought. Rainy will attest to that 'cos he helped change my mind, lol.
Beast Machines seemed like a Machine Wars style fill in and I never saw the series ever. I just watched the first episode and already you see why it was heavily debated over with it's theories/ethics. It's just great though as a beginning and I am rteally looking forward to watching more due to great animation skills of Mainframe Entertainment and wonderful writing stlye.
One question though... Why are they all returned to their original beast forms instead of being TM1/2 versions?

Their forms being altered at the start will be explained in time Cake, dont wan to spoil it for you though.
Primal's is a debated one though as really he 'should' be some weird organic form of TM1 or something. Not worth worrying about though.
