It displayed on the whole screen I have a widescreen tv.
that's when I played it like I mentioned before..I have to try it in a regular dvd player and see how it looks

Yeah. They had to cut some to the top and bottom of the image off to transfer it from 4:3 to widescreen. It was fairly noticable in the previews that they released.

Its similar to what widescreen movies go through to create pan and scan 4:3 versions.(except in that case the side get cut off).
