Yeah, when you look at the takings, over $250million dollars in 6 days, that's pretty impressive. Though when you look at things like Lord of the Rings (over a billion dollars), it puts it into perspective.

I agree, a fantastic achievemnent though. I hope TF continues to grow in terms of takings! The more money they make, the more sequels we get,m the more chance there is of MOVIE OCTOPUNCH! Actually... they'd probably screw him up... I hope the film flops

The film is still to open in major territories like Japan and here. It'll probably take around £30m ($60m) here in the UK and close to $90m in Japan, so don't be suprised if the final worldwide box office ends up around the $650-700m region.

And it's Warner Bros so it means we will eventually get High Def and BluRay versions

And you base your figures on what exactly? I've been following movie box office figures for over 15years. I get Screen International every week, which gives me gives me box office figures for every major country, so I've seen what sort of figures the big summer blockbusters produce in each country. Last week after TF had it's first full day of release in the US, I said on another forum that it could finish the week at around $160m.... it ended up at $155.4m so I was pretty close By sunday night in the US I'm now guessing that it's total will be around $215m, with about $35m being taken this coming fri-sun.

It's now up to $186.99m as of last night, so it only needs another $30m this weekend to push it past $215m (wish I'd gone to the bookies now!).
Harry Potter opened on Wed to a huge $44.2m but dropped to just $18m yesterday so it may not damage TF's takings too much in the US.
At the moment I'm gonna say around $290-300m for TF once it finishes it's US run.....
