So what do you think the new BW Series (well one off) will be like from Dreamwave?
I have the awful feeling that it's going to be a disapointment, but you never know

You're talking about the story in the summer special, right? Well, the preview pages look *awesome,* and the coolness factor is kicked up a few notches by the fact that it appears to be referencing the unmade episode, "Dark Glass," an idea that people tossed about, but thought DW wouldn't do.

As long as they maintain the quite honestly awesome charas and premise of the orginal ( whihc is gonna be hard to deviate from unlike armada and energon) and steer clear from that Beast Machines rubbish itll be great.

I reckon its gonna be good. Despite the fact that the majority of the fandom seems to disagree with me, I think Dreamwave have done excellent things for the transformers. Its good that in other areas they have developed their own continuity (the G1 continuity can get confusing over all the mediums, and the latter cartoons stories were rubbish) but with Beast Wars they should keep the cartoons story, as it was pretty faultless. It can easily be imagined into the dreamwave G1 continuity. So i'm looking forward to it anyway.

I've had my misgivings, but now I'm actually in favour of it. I think there's plenty of scope for expanding the series, with the plethora of characters never used, bits of the story to pad out (the first series was more episodic than the others, so there's plenty of space to work between) and so on. And the chance to have "Dark Glass" done at last is just too tempting to pass up.

I think they cant do it any worse than with G1.
A one off is tough. As DW has shown it takes them several issues to find their feet with any comic they've done (if they do at all).
I have high hopes but fear they will be dashed.

“Dark Glass” was supposed to have been a story where Dinobot’s conscience, having been downloaded into the Axalon’s computers way back in the season 2 episode, Bad Spark, is discovered by Rattrap. Disobeying Primals orders, Rattrap uploads the information into Dinobot’s clone, the Transmetal 2 version. This clone, becomes an amazing ‘split-personality,’ an amalgam of original Dinobot’s DNA and conscienceness, and the severed spark of Rampage. It’s important to note that these events did take place even if the show was never made, because it plays an important role in the series finale episodes. The story was veto’ed by Hasbro who ordered that it not be made because they felt its themes were too ‘adult’ and dark From www.unicron.us/tf1999/index.leftcolumn.htm

Yeh dark glass sounded cool i'm surprised hasbro pulled it though. There was more adult stuff in beastwars
the comic could be good or bad depending on how its approached i hope it will be good though

Thanks divebomb..that clears that up.
If only they had made dark glass....sounds well cools. If they do the story in the comic then that would be great IMO

Yes certainaly would have clarified things a lot mor ehad it been made an official part of the BW series.
Ah well, ive lived without until now...
As for the comic, a adaption of the idea would be interesting.

Well, having now read the Summer Special, I'm fully sold on a BW mini-series, especially considering the poor quality of the RID piece.
SPOILERS AHEAD but you really shouldn't get worked up about them anyway.
Given the length constraints on the comic, it was for the best that they didn't actually go into Dark Glass in full, just setting it up for the inevitable later exploration. And with Don Figueroa going at his best, it could hardly fail on the art front.
So yeah, a BW comic would be cool.
