I wanted to order these (all 3 of them) but then i saw they were region 1 dvds and since i live in region 2, i wouldn't be able to play these dvds however, my brother told me i should be able to watch them on my computer (with VLC player and IF my computers dvd is able to read these dvds) he also told me that i could then make these dvds region free and thus"copy" them on a different dvd i don't have any experience with dvds from other regions so does anyone know if this will work? or does anyone have any experience with other region dvds?
thanks

Search for a program called DVD43.
Download and install it, and then you should be able to play any region DVD without any worries.
It leaves a small smiley face in your program tray, but you can disable it from startup easily. Once you've put a DVD in that isn't of your region the face should change to an evil looking one. This simply means that it will now play on your PC's DVD playing software.

Yep DVD43 is superb - stop you having to change the region on your computer DVD player.

Also, a lot of home DVD players can be "unlocked" using your remote control if you have the right code to input - I had a Samsung one I did this to, and it became region free. Then it broke, but it was cheap so I wouldn't connect the two events.
