Got the new Transformers the animated movie comic today, it's got some nice artwork but is just so condensed. Why on earth didn't they split it into more issues? one page for the shuttle scene - the death of g1 greats deserves better treatment and that sadly continues throughout.
Incredibly though it's like it was done by someone who hasn't seen the film. Prowl calling out Megatron instead of Brawn on the shuttle is one thing but the complete mess they make of the Decepticon attack on Autobot city is just plain shocking. Blur is delivering Perceptor's lines and Perceptor is delivering the line "in other words Perceptor" okay....
How in the hell did that get past them? It makes no sense at all!
They fudge up Prime's deathbed scene too with Hot rod delivering Perceptor's line of "I fear the wounds are fatal", that just seems so laughable coming from Hotrod.
Anyone else annoyed by this or think that the original comic version (although drawn horribly) was better than this?

I got it last week and thought it was diabolical. The art was serviceable but nothing stellar and like you said it was horribly condesced. If you hadnt of seen the movie it would have made next to zero sense. Then again i have yet to read any decent movie adaption in comic form.

[glow=blue,2,000]I agree with you guys, horrible. An yeah, I remember the origin one being better then this. I was hoping for a more dialogue or something, its like there trying to get through it as fast as possible. Only the art makes it worth buying.[/glow]

who are the artist? Is Don Figueroa involved? Yeah. Don's the artist on this. As far as I can tell the first issue is getting almost universally panned everywhere. Most people like the art but think that the story flow is horrible and the speech bubble mistakes are unforgivable (this is manily becuse most of the time you can tell they're mistakes because the bot in question is talikng to him self - See Perceptor at the top of page 10 (where Blurr has his lines and he has Ultra Magnus') and the Insecticons at the bottom of page 11 (Shrapnel and Kickback are both talking to themselves)). When I read it for the first time I got half way through and though "The origianl was better than this", so I pulled out my battered copy of the '85 adaptation and apart from some missing plot points, it's a much better read. I decided that I get the rest of this series, but only for the art. If I want to read the story I'll get the '85 adaptation out.

Don Figuerda is indeed the artist which is the only thing saving it from being a total travesty. As Minion has said, if you hadn't seen the movie it would make no sense, and not just from Perceptor talking to himself... it just tries to do too much too fast
