Astounding! That the proto still exists is worth a whole article on its own. I shall prize my E-hobby Astrotrain all the more now.

Yeah the catelogue scan of the diaclone is cool at the end. Astrotrain really is one of the best TF molds of it's time. We have all three versions, original, original Japanese White and Anime. It would be interesting to know if there are any differences on the re-issue white - other than the packaging.

The Diaclone mould prototype wasnt a triplechanger, just had a train mode and robot mode. That one in the catalogs and the article is a genuine Transformers prototype. As for the differences between white and reissue, if you mean original and reissue, I covered that to some degree here: www.tf-1.com/articles/reissue_frame.php?art=AstrotrainAnd as far as US and Japanese reissue differences, I owned both and saw none. Sorry if I've misunderstood what you meant though and waffled needlessly All the best Maz

I missed the pics the first time around - of Raz's hardcopy.
We have another catelogue scan of Grey Astro, from a different sheet, which also shows the extended arms, though it is a little blurry, if you're interested?
