Ok I used to own Jazz when I was a kid though he ended up being one of my broken TF's I sold as spare parts a while ago. Recently I bought another one, a reissue boxed one. And well, was Jazz always this fiddly and fragile? Forgotten how useless the roof bit was when 'connecting' in car form and floppy the whole thing is. I seem to recall Smokescreen being very similar too. I've always liked Prowl's design but he seems to follow the same basic concept as Jazz and Smokescreen which is putting me off getting him. Does he feel more solid than those too or is he also fragile crap? Never had any problems with the two Sideswipes I've owned over the years so it might just be a problem with the Jazz/Prowl types and not all G1 cars...

I always remember Jazz being the most flimsy and difficult of the Autobot Cars and I'm thankful he never really got recoloured (except for Ricochet/Stepper).
On the other hand the Prowl/Smokescreen/Bluestreak mold is much more sturdy (although the windscreen/roof does have a tendancy to break off).

Yeah but my Smokescreens rear windows came off easy too.
So you would recommend Prowl then? I'm tempted to sell Jazz on before I break him. I like TF's I can play around with here at my desk (whether they transform or not) without fear of needing superglue or something. I really liked the look of Richochet but since he's a Jazz repaint I'm not sure if he's worth it. More a collectors piece rather than a toy I suppose. Think the only other G1 car I ever had real trouble with was Hot Rod and his damn roof/spoiler section. Too easy to break it off when turning it round. This junker Hot Rod I have though actually has it intact which is sorta cool...
By the way is it possible to 'stiffen' up joints on old TF's? I mean ones that have bolts rather than screws (Micromasters for example), or are hinged by lil bumpy bits that are sorta 'clicked' into holes.. if that makes sense. I have a few that need sorting, such as Warpath who can't seem to stay in robot mode.

Well sold Jazz within 10 mins of putting him on ebay and just got payment now so he'll be on his way to someone who's hopefully more patient and has a more delicate touch.
