Not keen on the car mode (front wheels seem too big?), but the bot mode is awesome! I particularly like the head resculpt you've done.
You gonna do Bumblebee too?

I was thinking about it, but i was leaning more towards doing a total reshell and make him a VW again instead of just another yellow Subaru. Then again im not that good with the heavy modding stuff, ims till a total noob when it comes to that, so maybe it would be best to just repaint a subaru yellow and that way he fits in with the rest of my subaru alts like CJ does.... But a 60's VW Alt BB is just sooo tempting....

Saw your work up to this on TFW2005 and it works out nicely. The wheels still poke out a little further than is truly pretty but what you have achieved is outstanding.
P.S. Instead a 60's/70's bug, why not go with a modern one? Plenty of kits available to hack about with either the scooby or rx8 frame would fit nicely underneath.
Thinking a little more carefully though, I can see another of the Alts being a much better choice for that particular reshell... 70's style too.

Bot mode looks cool, but I think the alt mode is a little too OTT.

I like it. The alt mode does look a little "Pimp my Ride"ish but apart from that cool!

I was thinking of using a modern VW, but i would just love a classic VW BB Alt, i prefer the old bugs over the new ones anyway too. Which other alt are you thinking of that would be more suitable? And 70's style? huh?

70's 'wagens with the Cal look, lowered stance and smoothed out bodies on Porsche wheels. 70's 'wagens in a Baja style, beach buggies and raised stances on ballooned tyres. Or the Kubelwagen which began life as the German military machine's answer to the Willy's jeep. All popularised in the 70's when Volksrods became big things, so take your pick to find something individual. Anyways, the Alt I am thinking of would require some clever trickery to turn into a Beetle. When I come up with some concrete evidence that is possible without too much effort I'll let you know No wild goose chases or confusing ideas this time.

The project is still a long way off though (totally skint for a start and i have other projects to work on technically)so im in no hurry for solutions but if you ever think of one please dont hesitate to share. Not many have managed to make an alt VW BB that looks really good yet (not that ive seen) so it would be awesome if there was a way that i could do something that blows em all away! hehe. Thanks to everyone else for their comments and critiques also and i totally agree with all of you when it comes to the wheels but i really couldnt find anything else to use. I thought they would fit a bit better since they came off of a 1/24 scale subaru but obviously not. Still never mind, this way i can just say it looks accurate to the G1 toy with its over sized wheels. And i laughed at whoever said it looked "pimp my ride-ish", that was funny, and again i agree hehe.
