[glow=red,2,000] Unfortunately Sonny that's the nature of Hollywood. You would never get a film made that didn't cater to a bigger demographic.
[/glow] Doesnt that comment work in the debate that we dont need more character developments' favour? If they was trying to appeal to a wider audience to begin with, which they was, then wouldnt they have already done all the character development in the first film? Then again it is a micheal bay action flick, and none of his movies have ever focused on character development, at least not at the expense of action like many films do. Like i keep saying to people if you want deep, complex, interesting and involving story lines and characters, dont watch a summer blockbuster movie about giant robots blowing the heck outta each other. Go and watch a period drama, or a crime thriller, or if you are obsessed with endless confusing sub-plots, go watch pirates of the caribbean 3.

lets not forget that bay was also trying to appeal to fanboys like me and others. a movie based on a franchise will never keep every one happy. it took 10 years for me to watch beast wars. now i love the show. wonder how many ppl didnt enjoy the new movie? maybe theres guys and gals out there that think bay did rape their childhood. for me the movie is what it says on the tin. GIANT FREAKIN ROBOTS.

Yes unfortunately there are a select few die hard G1 enthusiasts out there who hated the movie as they are incapable of moving on and accepting a different take of their beloved 25 year old 20-minute toy commercials, and such loons do indeed think that bay somehow "raped" them of their childhood, and those people need to get a life and some therapy lol. I totally agree with you though as the movie doesnt claim to be anything else than what it says it is. TRANSFORMERS=GIANT FREAKING ROBOTS BEATING THE CRAP OUTTA EACH OTHER! Wait...wasnt that the whole plot of the original cartoon as well? Peh...fanboys hey?

I totally agree as how would they have found a way round to releasing Megs in the states if it had been a G1 based movie, the die-hard G1 fans have just not thought about that aspect imo.

Wait...wasnt that the whole plot of the original cartoon as well? Peh...fanboys hey? AMEN! For over a year before the movie came out, the heated arguments I read just made me laugh! I just cannot sympathise with someone who can hate something they have not even seen so passionately. And even now, there are still a few who just will not accept it for what it is, and insist that Transformers has forever been ruined. To them, all I can say is 'get a life, you sad, sad people' lol.

i think the film is 'blah'
action smaction is all i here about that its all tf is suppose to be. g1 or no g1 and lets leave out development and let me say the movie has no character or anything worth its weight.
yes prime had character and so did frenzy and you could just see some of it in ratchet ironhide and jazz barely but it was there but thats the thing that makes tf different from other big bad robots there 'character' i find that while tf characters change forms and alternative modes they stay some what the same prowl is the serious one jazz is the fun one brawn the tough guy and etc and its those things that carry transformers through all its different form being armanda and etc....
i though it was sad that we didn't get enough megatron and starscream time yes of course we should see more movies and more chances to see these character but be honest do you really think the movie needed that much eye candy to sell it? or these human characters or senceless wastes of time in the first half? no the movie would of sold well cause tf has been around for so long and has touch everyone in america and beyond. alot of people like simon furmon writings who has given tf what it needed in character and stories so it should be that approach that tf is given its what the james bond fanchise has just done to ensure its future. not that tf needs it to sell toys of course but to take the movie up a knotch would of been excellent. take out the crappy human stuff heck keep the amount of action the same but give it some more robot interaction. heck make it a g1g2armandabeastwarRIDcybertron hybred and throw out the matrix and bring in that incredible shrinking all spark building/cube and why they cant make megatron turn in to a tf size gun the same way i dont know and id be happy with it
