Now, I've not been collecting movie toys 'seriously, but i've noticed there seems to be a cronic lack of Deluxes.
Neither Woolworths nor Toymaster in Andover have had deluxes for about a month, and when they did get some in (FB Jazz & Recon Barricade) They went in about three days.
I was visiting friends in Leicester over the weekend and popped into Diominoes Toys, where there were loads of people (kids & adults) asking for transformers and deluxes in particular. Dominoes didn't have any, and didn't know when they would recieve some.
I also went in TRU in Woking (i had an hour to kill in Woking thanfks to British railways being rubbish) and although there were loads of transformers toys in general (and plenty of punters buying them) there were no (0) deluxes, and no empty pegs for them either (unless you count the Bumblebee/Longarm 2 pack, of which there was practically a warehouse full).
Whats goping on?

Same here, although Tesco has an abundance of Longarms and final battle Jazz's.

Last time I was in John Lewis they had Swindle, Scorponok, Bumblebee (70's one which I hadn't seen in a while) and Bonecrusher. They also had the Voyager Thundercracker and Rescue Ratchet (both of which I don't have... though not sure I want the G1 Ratchet...). I've not seen Final Battle Jazz around here which I do need too if just for the gun but due to health issues I haven't been able to get around so much to the other stores.

I went into TRU Leicester back in September and they had no deluxes at all then. So it has been a long term problem. Deluxes and Ultimate Bumblebee are also constantly going for over the odds on Ebay. It seems as if TF's are really going to be the big toy this Christmas. Not just one individual figure but the whole lot!

I suppose this is a good thing (sort of) as it means TFs are popular with kids and not just 20/30-something geeks (you know who you are . I just find it something of a novelty that I can't buy TFs in this country because they've sold out rather than because of Hasbro's 'quirky' distribution.

Well, woolies have Recon Barricade - they have being selling TFs so well it seems that they have decided to slap an extra pound on top of them, so their deluxes are now £10.99 & scouts £7.99. Bargin! Makes Forbidden Planet seem cheap!

Makes Forbidden Planet seem cheap! Not when FP are selling Classics Ramjet for £14.99 it doesn't Still need that one but Deluxes shouldn't be more than a tenner though I'd go one pound over at most.

The bad news of course is that the RRP's of various toys is going up. Because the USA is now insisting on extra testing on toys to check for lead, the manufacturers are being forced to push the prices up.
Many of the "big name" shops in the USA are now selling Deluxes at a Dollar over the old price, voyagers at 2 Dollars over and leaders between 2 and 5 Dollars over the old prices.
As we get the usual $=£ equation the prices here will be forced up as well.
