role playing?

I really don't get this role playing thing. I read what you guys do but I can't seem to quite understand whats going on or how you decide what to type. I dunno.

it's easy just pretend your a big robot and act like you were him or her in Arcee's case

It real easy. You pick a TF character based on comic or show or just one made up and pretend to be that character. For me I usually pick a character from the show and in my mind I picture how he would react to the story at hand.

Is there any sort of basic structure you all have to follow or is just made up as you go along?

Well basically every RPG has a gamesmaster,,, the guy who runs it and has a story in mind. He controls the universe and all the people expect for the player characters. its his job to guide them though the story but its up to them as to how they play and what they do.

Pretty much like a computer game RPG. You control a character and do what you want... but you tend to try and stick to the story... a plot helps as open ended RPGs can get people lost as they have too many options and no direction.

Hmm ok. I might join in the next one if I can and if I feel I can do it without dragging you guys down.

Not sure who I'd be. Carnivac's the one that springs to my mind at first. He's probably the one I could play even (perhaps especially) on the days where I feeling fed up with things and a bit aggressive. I like how he's technically a 'good' Decepticon (Marvel UK continuity). I certainly couldn't be Hot Rod on those days, though Rodimus Prime often had down days

Always was a big fan of Carnivac. Those stories were awesome.

I'll see about putting up some sort of training rpg at some point as a taster for newcomers. Maybe you can give that a try to see if it suits you.

I usually find its best to get be a character who has a strongly defined personality when you're starting out. If you can hear their voice in your head then they almost write themselves.

We quite often create our own characters as well mind you. So thats always an easy option if you cant think of someone you'd want to play as

while not partaking in any of the moonie RPG's this thread is most enjoyable and a good read

I think I will likely be Carnivac. Edgy, reluctant hero type, dangerous hunter, has a Pretender shell, and it's a freakin' wolf
