ok Im not sure if this poll has been done before, but Id just like to know what everyone thought of the Beast Machines Cartoon Series. Just the series, not the toys or anything else.
Base your answers on:
Animation Storyline Characters Entertainment
Personally I thought it was excellent, dont get me wrong, the toy line was utter garbage and the idea behind it was worse than Beast Wars for me .. technological organics? whatever .. but the actual cartoon series rocked ..
what do you guys think? my verdict 8.5/10

We have had this before but no harm as it was some time back.
It usually ends up with me and a few others championing BM against the hordes of G1 and BW purists.
Anyways...
Animation - As good as any CG show to date, superior to BW (obviously).
Storyline - Excelent, kinda weirded out with the organic Cybertron thing but generally a brilliant story. Very dark.
Characters - With the exception of a few (what series doesnt have its duff characters?) they were all engaging and fun to watch.
Entertainment - Personally 10/10, I can watch it over and over. I always say it couldnt be as good as it is without BW preceeding it but it does surpass it.

Gotta go with Rainstorm on this one and state for the record that Beast Machines in my opinion was a FANTASTIC series.
Animation = The CGI was absolutely amazing and really suited the series.
Storyline = The storylines were pretty good and there was some exceptional episodes, and as Rainstorm said, it had a very dark feel to it.
Characters = With the exception of Nightscream and Botanica they was quite cool, expecially Tankor and Jetstorm.
Entertainment = I've watched it since and it's still one of my favourite non G1 series.

It was definatly an Exelent series and easily one of the best I've seen, but I had too overlook the fact it was TFs as I honistly didn't like the Technoorganic look that they had in BM.
I prefered BW's look as I could justify it in my head with them being more cyborgy but the organics were just something too enhance them. But when they became mainly organic it just looked sucky in my opinion.
That said however it was the only thing I didn't like about the series and it didn't stop me from enjoying it. Was a good premis and exelent story line... but Dang they were ugly!

I have to say, my take on this series at first was not great, I thought the toys were pathetic and the whole idea of Beast - Machines was stupid. Being a die hard G1 fan, I origingally dismissed this series as ever being worthwhile (altho I did watch it ).. What i have come to discover is: 1) this series has superb plot lines and is more intelligently thought out that perhaps any other TF series 2) The tankor role, really gave us a real third faction for the first time since the quintessons in G1 ... I personally wish he had won the beast machines series, because I saw his goal as being the prime way forward on cybertron (altho it was v.similar to megatrons). 3) A lack of weapons from the toys, added extra new benifits in the series with special powers which again was reminiscant of G1 and good to see again. 4) the links with G1 were amazing, the key to vector sigma, the plasma energy chamber, iacon, etc great stuff, very good to see that writers have not forgotten us or the past of transformers. 5) Overall this series was fun, action packed and the vehicon's made it so. I really loved their roles and their characters were superb. However I hated the poor beast robots on the Maximals, I mean wtf is rattrap supposed to be/do or what?? Its a shame they had to cut it short really and also that they didnt make tankor have more of a role .. as the maximal army grew, the series tended to get a little less intresting, until strika and obsidian were added ... but even they had little time to make an impression. If ever there were a series based in the future of transformers on cybertron, Id love to see more G1 links and even some G1 characters return from the past to help in the battle ..

I've now seen both seasons and wasn't that impressed by it. There were some good bits, like Tankor and Jetstorm, the last episode with a proper conclusion to the Primal v Megatron characters, and the production values, but it was just too dark and serious for a Transformers cartoon. It would make a good 'generic' series, but I don't think it really works as a TF series, with things like the mystical/religious angle and harping on about how the techno-organic balance must be reached. BW struck the perfect balance between seriousness and lightheartedness IMHO, and I can't see myself watching BM again in the way that I do with BW. The BM action scenes weren't as good, and the characters didn't seem as likeable.
