Why was his spark indistructable?

and why did he laugh when Depthcharge was about to ram the energeon into his spark?? I always assumed that was because he was a little mad and he knew DC would die at the same time?

I may be wrong as I havn't actualy seen when he first turns up but I think it has something to do with an experiment to replicate Starscreems Indistructable spark (hence why he is flying about as a ghost)

I kinda figure that Rampage thought himself invincable so he let Deapthcharage stab him... or he could just have been bonkers

Steel's right. He was a Maximal experimented upon to replicate Starscream's mutant indestructable spark. In some respects it worked and others it didnt.
He was able to regenerate damage Wolverine style but his spark itself was vulnerable. Megatron cut it in half with an energon blade which whilst it didnt kill him like anyone else it gave Megs a hold over him.
As you saw and say he died when unrefined energon was rammed through his spark and as yet he hasnt returned as a 'ghost'/lost spark like Starscream so its safe to assume he's dead.

I always assumed it was because he knew the cycle was over at last-he and DC were trapped in a "vicious circle", a la Magnus and Galvatron circa G1, and at last it was going to be ended....

The giggle was just because he was a nutter. And a masochist of sorts.

We don't really know what he was like before they experimented on him. He may havbe been a patriotic volenteer who went mad when the process was performed on him. Primal said he was brilliant but insane.

Perhaps he just got tired of it all and laughed because he was getting Depthcharge to do him a favour and get rid of him at the same time.
