Seriously the BW/BM cartoons were great, good stories, great characters. Why do you think this didnt follow on to Armada/Energon/Cybertron, was BW/BM not as popular? Not one character in all three of those series is as cool as Depth Charge!

Yeah that pretty much sums up the dialogue for Armada, enegron and CYbertron. BW and BM were revolutionary storywise by my standards. I doubt we'll be lucky enough to be graced by such a good show for quite some time.

They won't put the money into it and had, reportedly, fallen uot with Mainframe. Which is a shame, they need to go back to the VAs in a room doing the dialog first and then to help base the show on what comes from that at you end up with a much more fluid end result.
Perhaps if the movie is a big hit they'll have the money and desire to pump some into it, but its cheaper the way they are doing it now. Plus Anime shows are so popular in the US (Pokémon, Dragonball, etc etc)

There's no one single answer, part of it is the dubbing process, another part may be the company making the japanese original version, another part may be the lack of decent tech specs to base stories off of. I don't think the recent animation style helps any either but that is minor compared to the tired character design, uninspiring robot or altmodes and stories that just revolve around humans too much... oh wait look what BW and BM didn't have much of... Look what the best episodes (IMO) episodes of G1 didn't have much of...
Well there's my take on it.

We need to sned it back to those geniuses at Mainframe, or wherever they have gone now.
Bob Forward = Mad ninja genius.
Although I much prefer Neil Kaplan's Optimus voice to the dude in Beast Wars.

There are very few cartoons that I have seen that have survived the transition from Japan to the US unscathed. I think that Escaflowne is one of the best out there. I think it makes a big difference on how much effort is put it.
I agree that Beasties was the best done TF cartoon to date, but watching the fan subs of Galaxy Force it makes sense to me and I really enjoyed them. I feel they try to make too many changes to the scripts to make it understandable for the kids, but they are not stupid.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a US commissioned cartoon for Classics line. If its done in english from the start they could make something really great from it.
BTW Gaijin, not sure if you knew, but Garry Chalk has done every Prime voice since G1 with the exception of RiD which Neil did a very good job with (again there the fans are mixed with their feelings for RiD, some love it and some think it is a joke).

Although I much prefer Neil Kaplan's Optimus voice to the dude in Beast Wars. I think Gary Chalk does an excellent 'mentor' voice andf that's why he worked for me in Beast Wars. Very similar to his Man At Arms in the 2002 MOTU cartoon. I dont know if I like him doing a regular kick ass Prime as much though.

I never meant to imply that Mr. Chalk (whose name had escaped me at the time - thanks for the info) did a poor job. There are three Prime voices out there, and ranked in order, in my not-so-humble opinion, they are Cullen, Kaplan, and Chalk. I'd just love to see Kaplan get the part again, and if Bay had failed to secure Cullen's services, I would have been just as happy with Kaplan.
And FireForce hit the nail on the head. I would love for the Classic series to be produced for English speakers first. After three Japanese series, I think it's time TF came back to the States for a bit.
TRUK NOT MUNKY ;D

I thought Kaplin was good too, it has to be said, I think the British should make the new one, with shakespearian (sp) actors, it would be fantastic.
