Really nice read, possibly my favourite since BW and on par with the fun of Hearts of Steel issue 1.
It was a really nice homage to the Marvel Dinobots vs Shockwave story, certainaly one I had hoped for. Really showcased not only Shockwave's unique and captivating personality but also his sheer power (second only to Megatron's).
The Dynobots forms looked pretty silly but keeps in well with the BW type mythos and technology.
Shockwave being undone by the 'chaos' theory is superb and classic story telling.

Spoilers.
What happened was that the planet the Dinobots were observing Shockwave on had too much Energon in the atmosphere that would cause stasis lock.
Swoop suggested that they have the CR chambers create them synthetic skin to protect them from it, whilst their systems adjusted to the planet. Someone had scanned and selected several animal alt modes for them, but Grimlock wasn't happy with them, so alternatives were found.
Near the end of the issue Shockwave blasted the Dinobots, and vaporised their synthetic skins. Leaving them just as Metallic Dinosaurs.
In the end it was revealed that the planet was of course Earth.
From my guessing it is set after Beast Wars, as it hints that the ice-age had ended. It looks like there was time-travel involved, but until IDW do a timeline its not possible to be 100% sure.

I dont think there was time travel inolved personally. It was simply in the War Within (pre-Ark trip to Earth) kind of era (or IDW's equivalent).

I think the series is a really good idea. It reminds me so much of the old BnW UK stories. towards the end (FYI a lot of them collected in the Earth Force tpb). They were generally superb.
