I think it's good that we talk about this openly on the board. Being able to talk to your mates helps, and if it makes anyone else uncomfortable, so be it - we don't want anyone else to get to despair levels again like poor wee Toughy. Myself, I have bought a juicer, joined a gym, got a promotion and quit smoking. Lifes looking up!

When DS posted we don't want anyone else to get to despair levels again like poor wee Toughy. is sums my thoughts up really. Brett's passing back in July 2006 changed a lot of things for me which is one of the reasons why you don't see me around the board so much these days. So I'm glad people can talk about things and will, as it does help, and people do care. I'm a much happier and confident person now that I've been in whole life, and the last 18 months have been a strange journey, but the last 12 of them have been some of the most successful periods of my. Sure I've been busy, but I've got a great girl, a great job I enjoy the things I do everyday, and though there is still not enough time to do everything I want, I feel positive and haven't been down in over a year and that was only due to someone at work.

Memories dont solve problems. They usually lead to bad memories (especially when theres more bad ones then good) which just end up making you feel worse and you end up dwelling on the past constantly like my mum (she suffers from the same illnesses as i, and a few more).
That is why i tend not to think....ever. I just try to live in the present and not think about the past. Theres no point dwelling on the past.
Also Minion, i believe the "pc" term is illness. But i see no point in being PC around here so just call it by what it is: A stupid, worthless, life sucking parasite of an illness that *messes* you and everything up.
*sorry had to remove the naughty but apt word

Now I just need to find a way to stop drinking entirely. It just makes me feel bad about myself the next day. Has anyone tried NLP?

wow. look how many ppl have posted in this thread.
ds, if ya wanna give up the booze (which i havent), you may wanna talk to ppl who know about giving it up. just my advice though.
as for brett, or toughboot or however we knew him, just wanna say , since he passed away i find its made this place a good place to talk about everyday life. yknow troubles and accomplishments(bad spelling, sue me). i think tb (as i called him) would be happy to see us all talking about our problems here.reminds us we are not on our own. so lets keep talking if we got problems, its helped me and i thank you all. anthony.

So, er, does anyone get moments of paranoia? I'm going through a mild phase at the moment and admit it is starting to gnaw into my reasoning and judgment.
