As for my storage...I store my TFs in bins....Pro bins.......Mine can be locked with a padlock......There from my local Gas station. I put them in a bin, towel rapped and bagged.Safe as safe can be.

I would have thought using a toothbrush a bit rough for dusting personally. Actually if you find an infant toothbrush, they're excelent. They're really soft, and work great.

OK I am off to Ikea this evening to buy 6 detolf units... I will report on how they are. I might also see if I can snag some extra shelves as I am sure I can rig up sommit for extra display space (specifically I'm sure you can buy perspex 'risers' Which can be arranged to hold an extra shelf).
What I want for these smaller shelves ain't exactly heavy (Mechwarrior dark age units for example) so This should be fine and will mean I don't need to weld shelf holders on.

Whats so shocking about that? Yeah I know it won't really hold that much but I'm hoping it will be good enough for a start. Also I don't want to display my collection by packing everything into 1-2 units as frankly it looks awful. I would rather have 1-3 (depending on size) per shelf. And also I have several art pieces which deserve a shelf to themselves. Tis about 210 quids worth. 240 including delivery. (which I need to ensure I can arrange for Sat or Sunday) As an aside, someone asked about UV film. I havn't found any for display cabinets, but then I realised that it would be easier/better to coat the windows in the room rather than the cabinets so I looked for that instead: www.shop4windowfilms.co.uk/solar.htmright at the bottom

geez those detolf units are _heavy_
Managed to lift 4 of them up to my flat so-far and gonna need a rest for half an hour before I sttempt the other two.
Nice delivery bloke, dropped them on the first floor for me so I only had one flight of stairs to manage.

And knowing what the stairs are like in your block.. Yikes!
I'm going to be picking a Detolf up later today. Plus another Billy. (That's four of them full now)

yeah Im am not exagerating here. they are _heavy_ seriously heavy things. And the boxes are quite long so they are hard to balance.
-- Edit just noticed on the side of the box it says they weigh 40kg each

Billy really is the best choice as they are deep and tall and very customizable.. One question NS did you get the doors with the glass windows..I did at first but they were very shady..couldn't really see through them so I returned them.. But the best touch you can add are glass shelves!

Nope, I did't buy the doors. Am going to put some perspex over the front when I get round to it though.

OK I have built the first 2 things from my ikea delivery...
I think I might need more than 6...
For those that know my Zoids collection. It barely fits (way way way overfilled) what was in the old unit.
